Hello,

We’re writing with news about this year’s Spring Fayre. After careful consideration, the WBRA has made the decision to pause the event in 2026. We know this will be disappointing news for many of you who have come to love this annual celebration of our community.

This is not goodbye to the Spring Fayre – it’s a strategic pause to ensure the event’s long-term future.

Over the past four years the Fayre has grown into one of West London’s most vibrant community events, bringing together residents, traders, performers and families in a way that has made us incredibly proud. For many of our beloved local businesses it is their best trading day of the year and, with such a huge footfall, the Spring Fayre firmly puts our beautiful high street on the map.

Many residents have already told us how much the Fayre means to them and how disappointed they would be to lose it. We feel exactly the same. That is why we are committed to protecting its future properly rather than risking delivering something that is financially or operationally fragile.

We are a small organisation run by a group of local volunteers. Trying to raise substantial funding (approximately £45,000-£50,000), with tightening budgets everywhere, has become increasingly challenging year on year. In addition, the workload required to put on an event that now attracts 28,000 visitors onto the road is immense; from security to waste management, choreography to site management, licencing to marketing, the logistics behind the day are enormous.

So, as an organisation we have decided to take a pause this year to better deliver in the future:

  • Establishing multi-year sponsorship agreements that provide financial stability
  • Developing a community crowdfunding initiative (with match-funding from SpaceHive) so everyone who loves the Fayre can help secure its future
  • Streamlining our planning processes to make the event more manageable to deliver.

The overwhelming support you’ve shown over the past four years tells us this event matters to you. If you would like to get involved in your community, please drop us an email at info@WBRAssociation.org.uk.

We are asking the community to help to ensure the Spring Fayre returns stronger than ever in 2027 and beyond. We will soon be launching our SpaceHive crowdfunding campaign with match-funding. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.

In the meantime, before we launch SpaceHive, if you would like to make a contribution today towards the future of the Spring Fayre you can do so here.

Thank you for understanding, and for being part of what makes Wandsworth Bridge Road such a special place.
