After taking a year off, we want to bring the Wandsworth Bridge Road Spring Fayre back in 2027. And we need the community behind us.

WHY THE SPRING FAYRE MATTERS
The Spring Fayre has become one of the biggest days of the year on Wandsworth Bridge Road.
The last event attracted MORE THAN 28,000 PEOPLE to our high street, bringing together local residents, families, visitors and businesses for a day unlike any other.
When we took a year off in 2026, the response from the community made one thing very clear: people really missed it. Local businesses told us how much they valued the event, with many relying on the Fayre as one of their busiest and most profitable trading days of the year.
So we’re bringing it back!
But we also want to make sure the Spring Fayre has a sustainable future. That’s why we’re asking the people who love the event and want to see it continue to play a part in our community to help make it happen.
A DAY LIKE NO OTHER
For one Sunday each year, Wandsworth Bridge Road becomes a road for people, not cars.
The traffic disappears and the high street comes alive. Neighbours connect with neighbours. Children can play safely in the street. Families spend time together. Local businesses meet new customers. And thousands of people experience Wandsworth Bridge Road in a completely different way.
There are 150+ market traders to browse, food and drink from around the world, and live music across four stages.
And then there are all the things you wouldn’t normally expect to find on a high street:
Rock climbing. Skateboarding. Football skills. Kids’ yoga. Circus skills. Maypole dancing. A dog show. E-cargo bikes and e-bikes.
There’s something to discover around every corner.
It’s energetic, inclusive, a little bit chaotic and completely unique.
It’s a day like no other on Wandsworth Bridge Road!
WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY COST TO PUT ON THE SPRING FAYRE?
When you’re enjoying the Spring Fayre, you see the music, market stalls, food, activities and thousands of people having a great day. What you don’t necessarily see is the huge amount of planning, equipment, people and infrastructure needed to make it all happen.
Our current fundraising target for the 2027 Spring Fayre is £63,870, including the Spacehive fees.
And some of the costs involved might surprise you…
CLOSING THE ROAD IS A MAJOR OPERATION
Closing Wandsworth Bridge Road for a full day isn’t simply a case of putting up a few barriers. It requires extensive planning and coordination, including Traffic Management Orders, liaison with TfL and neighbouring boroughs, bus diversions, signage, traffic management, and coordination with emergency services and the police.
The council has previously told us that the cost of managing the road closure is around £17,000. Historically, the council has covered this cost on behalf of the Spring Fayre, but we cannot yet assume that this support will continue in 2027.
That’s just one example of the behind-the-scenes work required to turn a major London road into a safe, welcoming space for people for one day.

The costs quickly add up! Multiply costs like these across an event that stretches for 1km and welcomes more than 28,000 people, and it’s easy to see how the infrastructure alone becomes a significant part of the budget.
Our wider costs include equipment, staging, security & stewards, staffing, logistics, entertainment, advertising, administration, contingency and all the other essential elements needed to deliver the event safely and professionally.
The things that make the Spring Fayre feel effortless are anything but.

SUPPORTING THE BUSINESSES THAT MAKE WBR SPECIAL
Wandsworth Bridge Road isn’t a chain high street. The vast majority of its businesses are independent, owner-operated businesses that give the road its character.
Our cafés, restaurants, pubs, shops, salons, studios, delis and specialist businesses are what make WBR somewhere worth visiting.
The Spring Fayre gives these businesses an extraordinary opportunity to showcase what they do to tens of thousands of people in a single day.
For many, it is one of their biggest trading days of the year.
But the benefit doesn’t stop when the Fayre ends. Visitors discover businesses they might never otherwise have visited. New customers find their way to the road. And Wandsworth Bridge Road becomes better known as a destination in its own right.
